Cheeky youngster elephant climbs on top of its pal while playing

A mischievous young elephant climbs on top of its pal for a jumbo-sized piggyback in adorable photos.

The calf was seen climbing onto its bigger buddy and flashing what appeared to be a cheeky grin at Kalawewa National Park in Sri Lanka’s central region.

‘Baby elephants are incredibly playful, and while I was watching a herd of over 200 elephants, I discovered these two playing around.

‘The little elephant appeared to be attempting to take a free ride while he lounged on top of another! He appears to be somewhat mischievous as he looks at me.’

‘I’m ecstatic to have captured this shot because it’s so clean looking straight at them,’ Mr. Bandara, 34, said. ‘This is why I’m proud to have taken the photo.’

The playful newborn bull leaned on his stronger, weary-looking companion for as long as he could before finally being pushed off.

The Sri Lankan national park is home to hundreds of elephants, and they appeared to be unperturbed by the presence of these newcomers.

As the baby bull lifts himself onto his unlucky companion, it appears as though they don’t know what to do.
